2025 Kingston-Frontenac Repairs & Upgrades Program: Funding for Home Repairs and Accessibility Upgrades

The Kingston-Frontenac Renovates Program (KFRP) provides financial assistance to eligible homeowners in the City of Kingston and Frontenac County who need urgent home repairs or accessibility upgrades.

Through the 2025 program, homeowners may be eligible for:

  • Up to $15,000 in a forgivable loan to complete necessary repairs, including structural issues, heating systems, electrical and plumbing work, or fire safety improvements.

  • Up to $5,000 in a grant (no repayment required) to fund accessibility modifications such as ramps, chair lifts, handrails, or accessible washrooms.

Who the Program Helps

The KFRP is designed to assist:

  • Low- to moderate-income homeowners

  • Seniors

  • People with disabilities

  • Households needing urgent repairs to maintain safe, healthy living conditions

  • Homeowners needing accessibility improvements to remain safely in their homes

Important: To qualify, you must meet the program's household income limits and continue to live in the home as your primary residence for at least 10 years after receiving funding. If all conditions are met, the loan is fully forgiven.

How to Apply

Applying is straightforward, but funding is first-come, first-served, so early application is encouraged.

  3. Submit Your Application

    • Online: Upload your completed application and supporting documents through the MyKingston portal.

    • In Person: Drop off your application package at 362 Montreal Street, Kingston.

Applicants will typically receive a response within two weeks after submitting a complete application.
